An old, significant building that became a hub for culture

Commissioned by the Cultural Heritage Office of Barcelona Provincial Council, owner of this emblematic building, in collaboration with Sallent Council (Bages), Transversal drew up a master plan to define the uses and functions of an estate measuring 5000 m2 and spread over six levels: a highly complex architectural work, built over more than 5 centuries, with a complex juxtaposition of styles, levels and uses.

The plan defines the uses, proposes solutions to the spatial fragmentation and circulation via different floors and levels to optimise its future management. The proposal allocates all the areas to cultural uses, in different phases and according to the social and cultural needs of the town and possible funding: public library, interpretation area, shared area for organisations, areas for young people and children, etc., including a proposal for comprehensive, public management.
