Innovative interactive resources to bring astronomy within everyone's reach

One of the most important aspects of this new centre is the design of the exhibition modules and museum facility, carried out by Ámbito 0 and characterised by a futuristic look inspired by the atomic and space age. Transversal has produced this museum in its entirety, made up of around seventy interactive and audiovisual modules (the museum contains approximately 700 audiovisual clips). The company has contributed its technological experience, its background in audiovisual production and its physical production capacity, producing physical elements with a ground-breaking design. The result is a large-scale operation based on advanced museography, given the size of the museum and the difficulties inherent in the project (design of the museum's overall interactivity, technical options with state-of-the-art RFID, audiovisual production at different levels, physically interactive resources combined with electronics, visual effects, dynamic models, etc.).

The museum is located in Arcos de las Salinas, in the province of Teruel, at the foot of the hill where the Javalambre Astrophysical Observatory (OAJ) is located, a scientific facility that produces large astronomical maps of the sky, at a site notable for the excellent quality of its atmosphere and the absence of light pollution.

CEFCA has promoted this interpretation centre to raise awareness of the work carried out by the OAJ and to bring the complex world of astronomy closer to the public.
